Training and Experience
I did my pre-doctoral internship at Detroit’s Henry Ford Hospital, Department of Psychiatry, with most of my training in neuropsychology. Prior to and after completing my doctoral degree, I worked in a variety of clinical settings, including among them the Oxford Regional Centre in Woodstock, University Hospital in London, the Children's Rehabilitation Centre (now John McGivney) in Windsor, Windsor’s Regional Children’s Centre, the University of Windsor’s Psychological Services and Research Centre, and private practice.
In 2000, while continuing with my private practice, I joined the faculty of the Department of Psychology at the University of Windsor, now holding the position of Professor Emeritus. As faculty, I taught courses in child and adolescent development, developmental disabilities, clinical assessment, and neuropsychology theory and practice. I have also been involved in the training, education, and research supervision of graduate students who focused their training on clinical psychology and clinical neuropsychology. With students and colleagues, I have published many peer-reviewed journal articles on different neuropsychological conditions such as ADHD, various types of learning disabilities, and concussion, to name a few, as well as articles on instruments used in psychological evaluations and the underlying neuropsychological processes they assess. I founded the Child Neuropsychology Research Group, the website of which you can find additional information about my publications, conference presentations, and the research activities of my lab and its members.

In 2005, I was the recipient of the National Excellence in Education Award, an award presented each year by the Learning Disabilities Association of Canada to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the field of learning disabilities and education. In 2009 together with Shauna Kashuba one of my graduate students, we received the University of Windsor’s Award for Excellence in Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity. In 2013, I received the Canadian Psychological Association’s CPA Award for Distinguish Contributions to Public or Community Service, recognition of my service to helping community organizations.
